Once you start submitting your website to the directory, you can start getting indexed by search engines within a very few days. This will in turn project your website in the search engine giving your website more exposure. Once your website is visited by spiders, your page rank slowly increases.
Reciprocal linking technique:
Getting reciprocal links is another way of getting your websites indexed sooner. There are a lot of link exchange websites that will help you exchange your website link with other webmasters in the internet and thereby getting you more traffic as well as getting your website indexed more often by a search engine spider. Once your site starts to get indexed, your page rank will automatically rise. Page Rank is a ranking system that Google gives to almost all the websites in the internet.

But page rank does not really reflect on the traffic on your site, it rather reflects the popularity of your website on the internet. Getting more reciprocal links within a short time will help your website gain more page rank as well as popularity. Also it is necessary that the webpage must be readable by a search engine spider and it must contain the SEO objects like tags, keywords and of course proper content which is unique and original. If your webpage is SEO friendly, spiders should be all over your website crawling it very soon. Once this is all done, you just need to sit back and relax and wait for the search engine spiders to index your site.
